Quick Easy Photo Tip of the Week: Window Light
at
4:05 PM
When you take a picture indoor, place your subject near a window that doesn't have direct sunlight coming in. A nice soft light will give the subject a dramatic look. Have a nice weekend!

A View from the Top of Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks
Here is another shot that I took on the top of Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. I found a huge tree branch on the edge of a cliff which looked like it was trying to reach to the sky.

Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument near Santa Fe, New Mexico
There are many awesome looking rocks in the United States, but Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks has some of the most unique ones. They have fairly uniform shapes, and their shapes reminded me of Russian nesting dolls (or Matryoshka dolls).... Whenever I encountered a group of tent rocks at this national monument near Santa Fe, New Mexico, I felt like I am being watched.

Being watched. |
On the way to the top of the mountain near the tent rocks, we went through a nice half-snowy canyon trail. We went through a narrow trail surrounded by beautiful rock formations.

A Remnant of Yucca flowers at White Sands in Alamogordo, New Mexico

Location:
White Sands National Monument, Alamogordo, NM
When I was walking on sand dunes at White Sands National Monument, I found a lone remnant of Yucca flowers in the sands. It gave me a little lonely feeling, but it was very beautiful.

Another shot (my favorite) of El Capitan in Guadalupe Mountains National Park
Another version of El Capitan in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It was shot from the same area, but I actually like this one better than the other one which I previously posted. I like the composition and prefer to involve the green plant and white rocks better.

Sandhill Cranes of Bosque del Apache, New Mexico
at
6:56 PM
A pair of sandhill cranes from Bosque del Apache, near Socorro, NM, were in flight. It's got to be a great feeling to be a bird and fly over New Mexico mountains in the beautiful sunset!

After the two week road trip from Houston, TX to Denver, CO, I have many pictures to work on ... One of the most memorable experiences during the photoshoot trip came out of Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Here is one of my favorite pictures that I took at the refuge. If you look carefully, you see thousands of snow geese and sandhill cranes on the pond. I am planning to put together some interesting photos sometime (hopefully) this month, so stay tuned!
